Yeah for that!

A few months ago when I was traveling almost every weekend, Silvia told me that if I ever wanted to visit San Francisco, that I had a bed to sleep in; and it belonged to me. Oddly enough, I'm basically in town for the next day and a half until I take off for Utah to see my little niece. After that, I'll be around until May unless anything new comes up. Yeah for that!

Today my grill is scheduled to be removed along with my stitches. Hallelujah. Since I already took the grill off myself last Sunday, all that really needs to be done is stitch removal and teeth polishing, which will be awesome. I can't wait! My tooth is looking better since the swelling has gone down and I just want to look "normal" again. Yeah for that!

I also wanted to give Uzi a little shout out because she went back to work today. As much as I love it when she's my lazy housewife, I'm glad that she has something to do again and that its with people that she likes. Yeah for that!

So long, farewell...

In just a few hours, I'll be going from here: to here:
It was so nice to be in Atlanta; feels almost like home since NC is so close. The best thing about being here was probably the Chick-Fil-A Chicken Biscuit that I ate for breakfast this morning. SO yummy. mmmm...
Oh. And if you ever want to know which hotel to stay in if you're ever in Atlanta, come talk to me. I saw 32 of them in the last two days.

With the mood i'm in, its a good thing this isn't champagne.

Twelve

This is my new favorite hotel chain.

The view from my hotel room overlooks the olympic park. Sweet!

I took off my bandage tonight. I'm sitting on a plane right now my way to altanta and a guy just walked by my seat with a matthews, nc, tshirt on. Whoa. Then the man next to me just set his stuff in my lap. This should be an interesting flight. Ok i'm out. Night.

Good Riddance

When my neighbor pulled away from the apartment tonight after moving out, I was really sad.

It's Official

I just registered myself for the half-marathon. Holy crap. I'd better go running tonight.

Tainted Love

Last night I went to see Tainted Love. They're pretty much the best 80's cover band ever and I'd seen them before, so when I heard that they were going to be at the Red Devil Lounge last night, I hopped on the chance to go.
I have a feeling that the 4.2 earthquake hit San Francisco right around the time that me, Matt, and Kristy were singing along with "You Shook Me All Night Long" by AC/DC. But I guess I'll never know because I didn't feel a thing. To see a video from the concert, check out Matt's blog. It was awesome; too bad they started 2 hours after they said that they would.

It Ain't Over Yet

So this morning I started counting down the hours until my grill would be coming off. I was more excited than I could tell you for more than one reason that I'd finally have full use of my teeth. The backside of my "dressing" had come off yesterday, so I thought that naturally the periodontist would take the front off today and remove all my stitches. Here's a picture of my teeth/grill this morning:
This picture is less than flattering, but when the periodontist took the dressing off my teeth and left the room for a second, I snatched my phone as quickly as possible out of my purse to take a picture of what my teeth looked like after my little gum surgery. Not a great angle, but you can see my stitches in case you were wondering what my gums looked like under my awesome grill.
And from another angle, here is my tooth. Doesn't really look like he did anything, but he did tell me that its swollen and that after it has healed, he'll cut more of my gums off if I want him to. I am really hoping that it won't cost me anymore if I need it.
Sadly, he put a new dressing on my teeth before I left because he said that the stitches just aren't ready to come out and he doesn't want them exposed for another week. I told him that I didn't like him anymore and he just laughed and called me a brat. :) I have to go back next Thursday to get my stitches out (he promised that they'd take them out next week) and then go back in another two weeks to decide if I want to have him take more fleshy tissue out of my mouth. Yum.
Glad that I still have a grill. Not really. But I'm trying really hard to act like I am.

More pictures of Hannah

Ok so if my sister reads this, Al, you know I love you and we all know that you just had a baby. Knowing your kids, this may be one of the only pictures you ever have with just your daughter in your lap.

I love these pictures with my Dad. Having two daughters himself, I think he has a real soft spot for little girls. His hands are so huge next to her face!
This pic is kind of a family joke. My nephew Sam makes this face all the time and it cracks my Dad up...so even though Sam isn't here in the picture, my Dad is imitating his "sour" face. I love it!

....check!

I am happy to report that I realized just a few minutes ago that I've met 1 of my new years resolutions already. #9 was to read 5 books this year and I finished it before March! I am awesome, if I do say so myself. I'm still working on the other 9, but so far I've kept up with all of them. #8, which was to go to bed earlier is definitely lagging a little, but I am trying. With such an ambiguous goal, it deserves an ambiguous resolve. I will try to go to bed earlier and some of the time, I will succeed in going to be earlier than other nights.

So the 5 books I read:
1.Briar Rose
2. Sister Bernadette's Barking Dog
3. Tortilla Flat
4. To Kill a Mockingbird
5. London is the Best City in America

I'm currently reading The Awakening by Kate Chopin and am really enjoying it so far. While I've loved my reading goal, the other resolutions need to step it up into high gear. I really need to get working on #1, #4, and #10 is mostly done. #7(run a half marathon in june) is going to be completed in May and since I can already go 7.5 miles, I'll have no problem meeting that one. I've never loved my resolutions more.

Dirty Dancing?

I'm honestly speechless after watching this video. I mean...this dance is classic and awesome and I could see Uzi and I wanting to remake our own music video involving much of this choreography. But at your own wedding?????? What are your thoughts. Really people. I want to see some comments today.
