“To love at all is to be vulnerable. Love anything, and your heart will certainly be wrung and possibly broken. If you want to make sure of keeping it intact, you must give your heart to no one, not even to an animal. Wrap it carefully round with hobbies and little luxuries; avoid all entanglements; lock it up safe in the casket or coffin of your selfishness. But in that casket- safe, dark, motionless, airless--it will change. It will not be broken; it will become unbreakable, impenetrable, irredeemable.”

Awesome things
So andrea and i just ran 6.5 miles. We decided to go to tommy's to eat some awesome mexican food and when we got out of the car, andrea found 20 bucks! What a great night!
UPDATE: We ran off our course a bit and actually ran 6.71 miles. The last .2 is very important.

Funny How Things Happen
So as I've told you, I was at home this past weekend. My old room is still full of a lot of my junk and so whenever I'm home I try to go through a few things and get rid of bits and pieces. I picked up a notebook from a college class yesterday morning and what I found inside was my picto-paper from Brother Grant's English 111 class at Ricks College. The basic idea of the assignment is that we had to take pictures and write a paper on each one. The following picture (sorry its so rough) was taken on Pier 39 here in San Francisco the week before I started my college career.
The last sentance of my paper really stuck out to me when I said:
"I've had so much fun here in San Francisco this past week; its a great city and I'd love to live here one day, but we'll see where life takes me."
I was 17. I had completely forgotten that I even thought that. Funny that I got exactly what I asked for. I think I should keep that in mind.

Awesome Running Website
Lucky for me, I live in a runner-friendly city. By that, I mean that its easy to run during all months of the year and there are sidewalks everywhere you go so that you don't have to run along oncoming traffic(unless you're in the Presidio). My friend Andrea showed me this awesome website called Walk Jog Run where you can map out a course wherever you live and it tells you how far it is and how many calories you'll burn based on your weight. Andrea is so nice to me that he's going on a long run this evening with me. Here's our route:
Russ Dixon Photography
A few years back, my friend Matt who is a part-time wedding coordinator/florist/decorator showed me his friend's photography website. The photographer's name is Russ Dixon and if you went to school in Utah during the mid-to-late 90's, you may have heard of his band. I'm not ashamed to admit that I used to own a few of their CDs and I may or may not have stood in line to get their last CD the day it came out.
Not only is this guy super talented musically, but his photography is amazing. I stole the following pictures from his website to show you how awesome he is.
Keep in mind that his full body shots are equally as cool; I just picked a few of my favorites. I showed these to my boss and she told me that he's worth whatever he costs. I agree.

Weekend in Review
I just got back from the ever-busy Oakland airport thanks to my awesome home teacher and now that I've finished unpacking my suitcase, I wanted to take a minute to share some of my weekend highlights.
On Friday, Matt and I went to see Aida in Centerville to celebrate his birthday. During the show I pointed out to him that the headgear of some of the dancers reminded me of a trip to Rome that he and I took a few years ago:

Those were the days when Matt and I dressed alike every day on accident. Ah; good times. So to semi-reminisce about our time in Italy, you have the following:
We've obviously grown up a lot since the last pictures were taken. Thank goodness. :) The play was good and I could actually understand what Aida was saying this time as opposed to when Matt and I saw it in New York with this actress. Radames kinda creeped me out, but we don't have to go into that. All in all, I was impressed and I liked the music a lot more this time around.
On Saturday, my cousin Erica was married to her boyfriend of about 5 years, Brandon. It was awesome to be there for her and I am so happy for them! Here is a picture of them after walking out of the temple:
Seriously. They are so cute and in love. It was fun spending time with my cousins as always. Here they are showing how sisterly they are and picking Erica's zits for her before her wedding reception:
That night, Matt joined me at the reception and here are some hot pictures of us:

I wish I would have taken some pictures of my nephews out on the dance floor with Matt, but I'd be shocked if they don't make the wedding album. He was super cute with them. Here are some pictures of Sam and Riley eating dinner:

So I'm heading home from Utah back to California tomorrow afternoon. If you live in Utah and I didn't call you while I was in town, don't take it personally; I've been with family the entire time and just haven't had the time to do much else.
The wedding this morning was beautiful; I'll be able to post some pics when I get home tomorrow. Matt came to the wedding reception with me and of course all my cousins want to know when we're going to get married. For the record, he's just my friend. Always has been and will be until further notice.
Sizzle out. (I've got to get to bed....my dogs are barking and I am so tired!)
