And here's where I start telling you about my trip to Utah.
On Thursday I went to Ben & Kristi's wedding up in Parley's canyon. I had to steal this picture from Russ because I didn't take any of my own pictures, so here's one of their engagement pictures that I found on his website. Aren't they the most beautiful couple that you've ever seen? Matt decorated the venue with his mad skillz and big surprise, it was amazingly beautiful. Lucky me, I got to dance with the two most fabulous girls there.
On Friday, I took my nephews and niece shopping. Afterwards, being the cool aunt that I am, I took them to Wendy's and bought them some french fries!! Here's Will enjoying his afternoon snack.Sammy was quite the shopper; he picked out a new outfit for himself all on his own. I'll have to wait until my sister sends me some pictures of her kids in the clothes to show you how they look. With Sam's good taste, I'm sure that they'll all look great.
And here's my favorite niece Hannah. She has gotten SO BIG! Stinking adorable. I love it when babies get a little bit older so that they really start to look like little people instead of babies. Hannah is going to be one beautiful little girl! It was fun playing Mom for the afternoon at the mall with such cute kids. Obviously I'm not biased at all.
That night I hung out with Autumn, Dan, and Brad. Kinda funny that I met them all separately in San Francisco at completely different times, and the three of them now live in the same ward in Provo. Well, Autumn told us about a study she read where Apple Cider Vinegar is supposed to be really healthy for you. We didn't have apple cider vinegar, but we had the good ol' white kind, so we each took a shot.
I didn't get Autumn's initial reaction, but it was pretty good. Here's a picture of her after she'd spit it out into the sink.
So Brad told us that he'd double whatever Autumn and I drank. So he filled up a mug and drank the entire thing.
Dan taught us how to make taffy, and we had to pull it. I guess this puts air into it or something, so we all buttered up our hands and took turns pulling it. I'm still eating the portion that was given me at the end of the night, by the way.
On Saturday I went to see Matt in his latest play, The Secret Garden. I don't have to tell you that Matt looked really good in his uniform. You can see for yourself. :)
Saturday evening was when I penciled in the McCullochs. I hadn't seen them in a while and it was fun to see how much their little boy Chase has grown. The last time I saw him he wasn't walking yet and now he's running all over the place.
Pace & Joy got up to karaoke to "A Whole New World" from Aladdin. I wish I would have gotten the pictures of them pretending to ride on a "magic carpet", aka, the picnic table.
I had another full day unexpectedly in Salt Lake where I hung out with the lovely Heidi for an entire day. I got $340 for coming back on Monday instead of Sunday AND I got to hang out with a good friend. Seriously...the deal couldn't have been sweeter. Heidi...I really hope you've enjoyed those enchiladas...because I've been craving them ever since Sunday. Good times, folks, good times.
Did I mention yet how good it is to be home? I miss my friends in Utah like nothing else though. I didn't even blog about hanging out with Bre, Tammy, or Jessica, or the good talks I had with Matt's mom. I was definitely on the move while I was there. Its almost a good thing that my parents weren't there. They would have felt a little neglected for sure. I'm so glad I went. The past week was a whirwind to say the least, but really, it was full of memories that are sure to last a lifetime.
Thank you to all my friends who make sure to show me how much you love me. You are awesome!
