Naming contest

Ok so tonight was LaNae's surprise 25th birthday bash. Unfortunately I didn't get any pics of her. hmm..but luckily, she knows that I love her, so here is a lovely pic of her from another time. What a hottie.

While we were at Kelly's apartment, there were a few of us who wanted to play with her foster kittens. She fosters them until they're old enough to be spade or neutered and then they can be adopted by someone who can care for them full time. So fun! So we played with them and held them while they slept, but realized that this little guy didn't have a name. Ideas anyone? The best name will get a cool gift from me in the mail; I promise. Here's a picture of Dan trying to come up with the coolest name.

And you should check out Steve's blog here.

Full body shot.

The highlight of the evening was when "Paris" got up on the railing of the balcony and started dancing...and then Buck got up and as Tommy said it, "Side freaked her." HILARIOUS.
So tomorrow is Halloween. In case you didn't know, I LOVE parties. A few months ago some friends and I decided to throw a Halloween bash and the lovely Alyson volunteered her parent's house in Los Gatos. The setting was incredible and we even decided to give the party a Hollywood theme. You can't completely see the sign that her parents put up outside their home, but you can see part of the "Halloween" instead of "Hollywood" sign in the background of this picture. You walked in on a red carpet to the most happening lds party around. Here are the pics you've been waiting for.

Here is the awesome Karren Thomas. You can check out her blog here. She threw a party a few years ago and I went. That's how our friendship started. Did I mention that she's awesome. Below, she's pictured as Elizabeth Taylor as Cleopatra.

This is what Bruce kept on saying on Saturday night. Guess who.
"The answer is: the girl who had the most creative idea for my Halloween costume. " Me, duh.

Adrian as the cutest boy scout around and Joy has one hot tin man. I still have glitter on me from being near her.

Dan was dressed as Daddy Warbucks (you'll see his sidekick below) and Buck was Richard Simmons. He won the contest for the sexiest costume. Nice legs.

This is Silvia and Justin dressed up like Mulan and Shan-Yu (or however you spell it). I told her that she and Justin win the prize for being the hottest multicultural couple at the party.

It looks like they found Osama after all AND he's a patriot. Thanks for the laughs Derek.

HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT! Katie looked awesome dressed as Pat Benetar.
Rob had an amazing costume...too bad he didn't come in riding on top of a minivan. He made such as awesome teen wolf that he won an award for best look-alike. Well, he tied with someone else, seen below.

I still can't get over how adorable JJ looks dressed like Annie. If Annie would have looked as hot as her I probably would have actually liked the movie!! And Dan, you can be my sugar daddy anytime.
Gladys made such an adorable Minnie Mouse..too bad you can't see her awesome shoes. Joey also won the best look-alike for Jack Sparrow...he'd been growing out his beard for weeks...and Jake won the best invisible man award...I mean...he made an awesome Darth Vader.

Jane and Sam came as Brangelina...and Zahara was in tow. Too bad Shiloh didn't make an appearance. They looked great!

Brannon has to be one of the funniest people I've ever met. He came as Cruella Devil. His eyelashes were incredible. He makes a really hot woman.
Jason, Brannon, Buck, and Todd....nice costumes boys.

Here's the pic you've all been waiting for. That's hot. I'm now thinking about dying my hair blonde and wearing scarves in my hair daily. What do you think?
And in case you're wondering what Paris looks like in the morning, here you go.

What I'm going to be for Halloween

Since the big party is tomorrow, I need to make sure and wear lots of fake bake lotion tonight and maybe spray my hair a lighter shade of its natural color. Despite my efforts to lose 100 lbs in the next 24 hours, I've been unsuccesful. Hopefully everyone will know who we are.

Restaurant Review

Last night I went out to dinner at Boulevard down on the Embarcadero. Since I don't drink and tend to drink only water at dinner, I don't feel bad when I splurge on the Filet Mignon. A lot of people I know aren't huge fans of meat that isn't well cookied...but as far as I'm concerned, the more red the better. I love it. If you go to dinner here make sure and plan on a long evening; it took 3.5 hours to eat a 3 course meal. Yum.

I'm going insane

I leave for my meeting in 11 days. Things are crazy around here; my desk is a huge mess and there are boxes everwhere. My phone is ringing off the hook and more urgent issues keep coming up.
I'm imagining a happy place; far far away from here.

UPDATE: I just dropped a huge pile of papers in the copy room and burst into tears. I really am falling apart.

A change will do you good...

The last year has been very interesting for me. My personal life has seen a lot of ups and downs. I've had a lot of reasons to cry and a lot of reasons to be happy. I've grown in ways that I never thought possible, but some challenges in my life seem like they'll never go away. I don't think I'll ever experience a year with so many polar opposites. I've lost a few loved ones and met more incredible people than I can even talk about. With all of this going on, sometimes its nice to just get away for a while. Last night I cancelled my dinner plans and called my aunt who lives about 20 minutes away. I asked her if I could just come over and chill for a while. My cousin and her kids/husband were there, as well as my 93(almost 94)year old grandmother. I heated up leftovers from their dinner, taught my aunt more about her computer, laughed with my uncle, talked about my poo, and plucked chin hairs with my aunt. I spent a lot of my formative years in that house, so whenever I'm there, I feel like I'm not only at home, but that I'm on vacation. Nothing is expected of me, I get to laugh with people who really know how to make me laugh, and I even got to play with the cat and dog. Sometimes its nice to be with people who have the same chin hair problem that you do and who you know will walk you out to the car and kiss you on the cheek every time you leave. I've thought a lot about moving to the east coast recently, but a few weeks ago when I was with my family on the beach in Tiburon and my cousins kids were sitting on my lap, I realized that for right now at least, this is where I want to be.

Good times...

Buck just emailed me this picture. It was taken a month or two after I moved here while on the Christmas cruise. Bre had come to visit, and I guess this was the night that Buck and I officially became friends. This pic brings back a lot of memories. Love you guys!

I'm about to be broke

So my sister called a few minutes ago to tell me that she's going to have a girl!! I'm accepting congratulatory gifts.

ps. jacque--she's going to be you! haha!

My long lost sister

This morning I opened up my email account and there it was. An email from Patricia Leitao. When I was a sophomore in high school, she lived with my family as a foreign exchange student. She lives in Recife, Brazil, and is getting married in January!! Awesome. I am so glad that she found me; this blog was inspired. She googled my name and up popped my blog.

Estou cheia como uma vaca!!

My fun filled weekend--part 2

In case you weren't aware, I'm the activities co-chair for the YSA ward here in San Francisco. A few years ago when I moved here, the first activity I helped with was the hoe-down. We learned to square dance and had a great time. I've been wanting to do this again ever since, so Jake and I planned it and it was a huge success. I think that everyone had a great time. Most people dressed the part which makes it even more fun.
Dan and me doing a square dance demonstration.

Here are some lovely ladies for your viewing pleasure. Juliann, Kristy, Sarah, & Tracy.

Kelly had an awesome skirt to square dance in. And she looks hot. Ow Ow

This picture could be titled "The Proof that Kristy was on Drugs part 1". It brings a tear to my eye just thinking about it. Buck says that this picture is a bazillion words. I agree.

Dave told me that he wanted some cake. So I fed it to him.

I love this picture. These are my girls. When Kristy saw Silvia she ran up to her and yelled "Hey Jesse?!!!! Did you bring BULLSEYE!??" I haven't laughed this hard since Kristy's top came off in Hawaii.

Here's a random picture of people visiting during the evening.

Some local cowboy was there. :) Buffalo Bill!

Silvia & Jake promenading around their square.

Laura and Jonathan our faithful home teacher.

At the end of the evening I taught Dave Kristy and I's favorite game. BE ASLEEP!

My weekend....part 1

Last year at our ward's Annual Christmas Auction, our friend Kelly bought a day on a sailboat courtesy of our friends Lindsey and Juliann Wheeler. Kristy and I were lucky enough to be invited and we had a blast. Here is our story in pictures.

Who ever said that Virginia is for lovers? San Francisco is the place that got struck by Cupid's arrow! That's the ferry building in the background. So beautiful!

Kristy and I love each other. aw.

Peekaboo!

This is Dave trying to look tough.

I'm not really sure what is going on in this picture. As I recall, it was something about "Open your mouth and let it dry like a dead person." I think that a better story goes like this: "This is Kristy attempting to catch a fish in her mouth."

I love this picture of Marshall. He's reaching for the camera from the bed below.

Marshall got this really great idea to hang upside down off the side of the boat. This was a great idea until he and LaNae almost fell off the boat. Too funny.

Kelly and me. Aw. I love her.

I think that Kristy and Dave were having too much fun. It seems as if they were riding a bucking bronco instead of riding waves on a sailboat. Awesome.

I'm definitely feeling the love going on in this picture.

Captain Kelly

Our beautiful home; the city by the bay.

LaNae looking hot...like usual.

From left to right: Henri, Lindsay, Susan, Me, LaNae, Kristy, Kelly, and Dave. Awesome trip. We didn't think that the weather would be so great out in the bay since it was cloudy in the city, but it was awesome. The sun was out and our picnic on Angel Island was just was the doctor ordered.
