Looks like I will be meeting at least one of my resolutions. I just booked a ticket to Bismarck, North Dakota to ensure that I will make it to North & South Dakota over the 4th of July weekend.
A couple suggestions (ND was my last continental state; two to go!):
ND -- There are a ton of random giant sculptures in this state . . . check out the Enchanted Highway (http://www.enchantedhighway.net/) and Theodore Roosevelt Natl Park bluffs are great at sunset
SD -- Badlands NP; Wall Drug (because everyone needs an "I've Been to Wall Drug!" bumper sticker, right?)
