My American Idol Experience

Let me first of all say that it was an awesome experience, being able to watch American Idol and know what was going on behind the scenes during the show. Let me tell you about the whole thing.
Buck and I drove down Monday night after I got off work and got to his mom's house in Valencia at about midnight. We woke up to her making us a great breakfast; my pancake even had my initial on it! Heck...my mom never did that for me! :) We left her house and drove down to Hollywood at about 9am. We walked over to the studio to check out the sitch and there were already people in line to get in to the studio. Of course the camera crew from Access Hollywood showed up a few minutes after we got there and Rick Buck made his national debut on television. While the reporter was talking about who may be getting voted off after their performance, Bucky was in the background waving his poster that said "Vote for Daughtry anyway!" I hid my face as I didn't want to get seen by the camera for a few different reasons. ha! We got into the studio at about 1:30pm and sat right behind where Elliott's family sits. Ryan Seacrest was everything I could have hoped for; super down to earth and way hot. AMAZING eyes when you're close up. He talked with everyone in the audience and signed autographs whenever asked. A few fun things that happened while we were there:

Katharine walked out in her little black dress to sing her last song, and Rick looked at her and said "You look good!" and she said "thanks!" with a big smile on her face. I was on the floor at this point wiping up his drool. If you know Buck, you know that I'm being serious. (Derek, I hope you appreciate that) Ryan had dialogue with Buck about how Chris only lost by one vote, and it must have been his fault since he didn't vote. ha! The entire time I was totally mesmerized and its still hard for me to believe that I was actually there.

I know that I must sound like a complete dork, but it was one of the coolest experiences of my life. I'm signing up for tickets again next year for sure and whoever wants to go, lets get in the car. I'm ready to go again right now.

Before writing about my day yesterday, here are some pictures for your viewing enjoyment from this past weekend. It was the Annual KFOG Kaboom, which is basically a free concert and huge fireworks show down on some of the piers. There were over 100,000 people in attendance and it was awesome. Great friends, great time. There were about 8 of us who took the train down there and serendipitously, all of our friends happened to get on the same train at the same time as us...it was awesome.

Love her.

Atomic Nade of a day...

I am in love. He's SO HOT in person. And then Buckaroo was on Access Hollywood holding this sign. I hope you all saw him.

NC here I come...

On any given calendar that I can get my hands on these days, the words "DUCK BEACH" are written clearly. What is Duck Beach, you ask? It is my dream and lately, my obsession. In 15 days (but who's counting?) I will be arriving in Baltimore, Maryland on the first leg of my journey to my homeland, North Carolina. Unfortunately, I won't be making it to Charlotte on this trip, but to just be in some good red clay soil will be good enough for me. A friend here in California invited me to go to the Outer Banks for an awesome weekend of partying in a house full of 20 other people. How could I resist? After staying in a TINY house in Hawaii with 6 boys and 2 other girls for a week, I decided that I could handle it...and do you see that house? Just a little bit bigger than the house in Hau'ula. My friend Melissa decided recently that I need to move to DC and be her roommate...who knows what drastic measures she will take to find me a man while I'm there, but I'm wondering if anyone has any great ideas for her...

goodbye old friend

Well, because of a spam problem on AOL, my dad is going to close an email account that I've had for 10 years...and I'm feeling really sad about it. Is that weird? I've well outgrown the nickname Feffy, which is my email address with my birthdate on the end. I am feeling so sad about losing the good times that I shared with that email address...like the time that I met some cool people in a Mormon chat room when I was 16...and found a long lost 2nd cousin who I am still close with. Anyway. I feel like I need to go spread some ashes into the water or something...
