Well friends, its official. My address is changing today to:

for those of you who are actually updating this, you may notice that I'm not moving very far. :)

Human slingshot

So today I was looking at my friend Josh's blog...and I found this article on there that was published in "The Scroll" which is the student newspaper at BYU-Idaho. I can't stop laughing. I hope that this picture of Josh helps with the visual of this. hahahah!!
"Mother's weekend may bring joy, but it can - in a roundabout way - also bring pain. Josh Porter, a senior from Charlotte, N.C., recalls a mishap that left his friend's mom in the hospital. 'Mother's weekend last year my friend Kendra Heap brought her mom and her little sister down for Mother's weekend, and her mom brought this game her family likes to play called the human slingshot,' Porter said. Heap and a group of friends joined together for the game.
'At first, my mom didnt' want to join in because her shoes were slick and she was afraid she would slip and fall,' Heap said.
'I had all kinds of excuses...I should have known better,' said Mary Heap, Kendra's mom.
The human slingshot consists of a rubber band large enough to hold four people facing one another.
'They bounce off the ends and kind of cross each other as they are going across the rubber band', Porter said.
After bouncing around in this human slingshot a couple of times, Mom Heap decided to take a bounce.
'She lost her balance and fell...and Josh fell directly on top of her,' Kendra said.
Mom Heap couldn't move. She tried to pull herself up, but to no avail. A couple of boys carried her into the house and gave her a blessing, then rushed her to the hospital.
After one bounce and a large human flying at her, Mom Heap had a broken pelvis.
'I spent the rest of the weekend in the hospital,' she said.
Kendra also stayed there with her mom.
'I felt really bad about that. It's about a year ago now, so I guess you can kind of laugh about it now,' Porter said.
Mom Heap spent the next two weeks recovering in a wheelchair.
...What did Mom Heap learn from her little adventure?
'I am not going to play any games with Josh,' Mom Heap said.

Monday madness

Well, today isn't exactly madenning, but I am quite bored here at work today. Some software that is essential for the wellbeing of my job is not working right now and so I can't do anything until someone from I.T. comes up to fix it. Such is life. I actually woke up at 5:30 this morning and went to the gym; I don't feel like I got that good of a workout, but when I went to starbucks today, I decided to switch to the Non-fat hot chocolate, which tastes even better to me than the regular. Go figure.
This weekend was fun-filled and I'm lovin' the single life. I hung out with my girls (Kristy and Silvia) on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday...and had a great time. I laughed a lot, and ate a lot all three days; what more could I really hope for? Here are some pics for your enjoyment.

too much king cake

In honor of Fat Tuesday and Mardi Gras, my office has received TWO king cakes today and we're all wearing beads. Mine are green and gold and if you want to know what I did to get them, you'll have to ask me later. My boss found the baby this morning in the first cake and as far as I know, no one has found the baby in the second one. If I get lucky, I'll post an update. By 10:30 today I had already had two pieces of sugary cake...maybe I should give up sugar for lent. haha. When did I become Catholic, you ask? Never.

UPDATE: I walked by the good king cake(I did a taste test) a few minutes ago and decided that for lunch, I'd have another slice. Look what I found!!!!

I received the following in an email today and thought I would share it with all of you lovely people:

AMAZINGLY SIMPLE HOME REMEDIES

1. If you are choking on an ice cube, don't panic.
Simply pour a cup of boiling water down your throat
and presto. The blockage will be almost instantly
removed.

2. Clumsy? Avoid cutting yourself while slicing
vegetables by getting someone else to hold them while
you chop away.

3. Avoid arguments with the little woman about lifting
the toilet seat by simply using the sink.

4. For high blood pressure sufferers: simply cut
yourself and bleed for a few minutes, thus reducing
the pressure in your veins. Remember to use a timer.

5. A mouse trap, placed on top of your alarm clock ,
will prevent you from rolling over and going back to
sleep after you hit the snooze button.

6. If you have a bad cough, take a large dose of
laxatives, then you will be afraid to cough.

7. Have a bad toothache? Smash your thumb with a
hammer and you will forget about the toothache.

Sometimes, we just need to remember what the rules of
life really are:

You only need two tools: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it
doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it
shouldn't move and does, use the duct tape.

Remember:

Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

Never pass up an opportunity to go to the bathroom.

If you woke up breathing, congratulations! You get
another chance.

And finally, be really nice to your family and
friends; you never know when you might need them to
empty your bedpan.

I would like to know if anyone can see any signs posted that say "Street Cleaning on Tuesdays from 6am to 8am" in these pictures. yeah...i didn't think so. i'm fighting a ticket i received.

Almost March...

I haven't really posted anything personal in a while, so I thought I'd take the opportunity. This week has been very busy...so busy that I haven't been able to watch American Idle...I mean...Idol. I might be able to fit in the results show tonight, but that's pretty weak considering that I haven't watched either episode.

On a funny note, my friend posted this on craigslist the other day and I hope that you find the humor in it like I did. Somewhere between a bar and her house, she lost her shoe...and this is her desperate plea for it to come back:
